B.F.A. Graphic Design
Ever since I was a little girl I have never been one to impress others with an extensive vocabulary or an out of this world diction. Visual communication has always translated in a much deeper, clearer sense to me. I felt that I was able to exemplify my thoughts much more clearly for others by using visual displays.
My true passion as an artist is photography, but I have found graphic design to be a benefiting asset. In my personal opinion, an image can speak louder than words, and because of that I find such a beauty in photography. As an artist I have found it very beneficial to incorporate photos into my graphic design when creating. The balance of imagery and type is so powerful; I find it helpful when getting a message across.
Over the last few months I have become intrigued by the human figure. This began with my photography. I prefer to photograph people opposed to landscapes because of the emotion that is portrayed through that person. Often times my medium of choice is my personal photography that has been taken and manipulated into a graphic design project. My artwork regularly reflects an organic nature, or shades and colors that are neutral and softer. Emotion is what drives my art. It is what inspires me the most to be an artist. I travel through life feeling a whole range of emotions and I am able to express any single one of those through art.
