B.F.A. Graphic Design
For me, design is about visual and conceptual communication, whether through the internet, pictures, posters, or objects. I deeply believe every piece from art has its own purpose which can then be hidden or expressed. Therefore, my primary understanding of design is ‘Message’, and a meaningful work can influence not only people but a whole society as well. A work without meaning is vain, no matter how pretty the picture is.
I am a designer who is familiar with two different cultures - eastern and western. This multicultural experience allows me to permeate the Eastern and Western culture and take advantage of them to create something different and meaningful. My method of design is to keep my pieces diverse, clean, precise, conceptually strong, and culturally meaningful. I fuse Asian and American styles together to create my own new style that can speak to both cultures. These are the primary elements in my design philosophy because I not only want to provide viewers with a clean visual effect, but also convey a significant message. In this vast design world, I am still constantly gathering all kinds of resources—which is my priority. Once I have gathered these resources, I can incorporate more aspects of design into my creations to make works shine.
